先週 ５月２２日（火）あのスカイツリーの開業日。
逆さツリーで知られるようになった横十間川から、舟でスカイツリーを見る事ができるツアーを
見つけて申し込みました。

雨が降る事など考えてもいませんでしたね。
最悪でした。笑うしかないです。
小さな舟で２８名。
ほとんど立つ事もできずにカッパと傘で寒さと冷たい雨を
防ぎながらの２時間弱・・・
さらに横十間川が工事中で入れず、
北十間川からスカイツリーの近くまで
行ったのに、見えたのは展望デッキまで・・・
それでも、とっても貴重な体験をしたのです。
墨田川と荒川を結ぶ小名木川に扇橋閘門があって、
ミニパナマ運河ですよ。前後に門があって隅田川から
入る水を引き、荒川からくると水を足して水面を
調整するわけです。干潮時で1,5m、満潮時で2,5mの
差があるそうです。まさに水のエレベーターですね。
これが江東ゼロメートル地帯を水害から守っているの
だそうです。全員が初体験で、東京にこんな運河が
あることにビックリでした！
今回のクルーズでは、隅田川の他に日本橋川、亀島川、小名木川、北十間川と廻りくぐった橋の数は３２カ所でした。
最後にくぐったのが日本橋で。。添乗員いわく
『お江戸日本橋を渡った人は数々あれど、橋の下をくぐった人はそうはいないでしょう。』
関東大震災の時に焼けこげて黒ずんでいる石が残してありました。いつまでも忘れないでという事でしょう。
この歳になっても知らないことの多いこと！！
